It happens every year, whether we acknowledge it or not… BIRTHDAYS. My own is coming up this month and I decided to write up a list of the things I can only dream of getting for my birthday, in hopes that it gives you all a few ideas for the special somebody you have in your lives… OR so you can send expensive gifts my way *wink wink*. I assure you, I am no lover of Ponies! Give me a Geeky Gift any day!
1. An Apple iPad3/ iPad HD (whatever):
Who cares about the name? All I care about is actually getting one of these fun tablets to lug around. Perfect for work, reading, movies, and apps. What’s not to love?!! It is light weight and, by now, all the bugs are sure to be worked out of it from the original iPad. Apple.com $499.00+
2. Playstation Vita:
Thanks to one of our writer’s recent review of this item, I gotta admit, I would LOVE to get to test drive this bad boy on my own. I would also have an advantage, since I AM on AT&T and can test out the 3G capabilities. By now it may be best to see if a newer model of this hand held device is announced. Issues discussed on the back touch screen and lack of battery life are likely to be in the next version. However, I certainly wouldn’t turn away this device! It’s features far outweigh any negatives. Playstation.com $249+
3. Astro A40 Gaming Headset:
I will soon be throwing out a few Turtle Beach reviews for the X31 and the X41s. Although I am impressed with the improvement of sound quality in game, I cant help but shake my head over some technical difficulties. I would LOVE to test out a pair of Astros to see which brand wins the battle of the headgear. Astrogaming.com $199.00+
4. Mac Book Pro:
The Mac Book Pro is the ultimate Dream Machine for me. As a gamer and a Realtor, there are an unlimited amount of possibilities for this laptop. Quality software and the customer support that Apple provides, makes this the perfect laptop. If ONLY I could afford the hefty pricetag that goes with it! Apple.com $1199.00+
5. Sony Vaio:
A less expensive model of laptop still makes my “MUST HAVE” list. I have consistently relied on Sony. My Cybershot camera has been a invaluable device to me in my Real Estate and for personal use for over 5 years. BOTH of my LCD TVs are Sony Bravias. Sony is a brand that I trust and respect. The Sony Vaio is an affordable, and adorable (with all the design styles) laptop. Definitely one worth looking into for that special someone. Sony.com $449.99+
6. Kindle Fire:
I know this is a fad that won’t last, reading on tablets. However, the Kindle Fire adds fun apps and other features that make it the ultimate travel companion. Long drives and boring meetings should always include one of these fun devices to keep you occupied. Make sure your boss doesn’t catch you playing Angry Birds during his speech, he may “confiscate” it. Amazon.com $199.00
7. Roomba and Roomba Scooba:
What?!! I WANT a Vacumme for my birthday?!! UM… YEAH!! For a girl who has an entire house of Wood floors, a Roomba vacuume and Scooba is a dream! The Scooba actually mops your floors FOR you!!! Be still my heart!!!! I NEED one of these! iRobot.com $200.00+
8. TRON Pinball Machine:
I know it is extremely geeky, but who WOULDN’T want a full size pinball machine in thier house?!! Hammacher.com $5700.00
9. Samsung Smart TV:
Seeing this TV makes me drool. I love the idea of voice commands, applications, the ability to play 3D for my Husband, and skype all on a Television. Samsung is a solid brand for electronics. I can’t wait to see one of these bad boys in action. Samsung.com (Coming Soon)
10. The Voice Activated R2D2:
Recently, I have seen a Verizon Wireless commercial where some dummy chose a Droid phone over an ACTUAL DROID! Poor R2D2 had his feelings hurt! Well, R2D2, I’ll have you know…. I will NEVER choose a stupid Verizon Wireless phone over you!!!! NEVER…. Ahem! Back to the description. This replica of R2D2 can play hide and seek, be used as a security system, listens to voice commands, and even gets in a bad mood. Is there ANY chance I could get one of THESE?!!! PLEASE?!!!
Available at: Hammacher.com for $199.95
